Please judge a book by its cover

How many times have we been told that true beauty lies within? When we talk about books, however, this is not entirely true. Moved by the need to catch readers’ attention, book designers can create real masterpieces.
A good cover creates an instantaneous connection between a book and its audience. It is a door that invites readers to get in and discover the story inside. Like the two sides of a coin, the outside and the inside of a book are a whole. This is what makes acquisitions interesting. Whereas a good translation is enough for the text, book covers require extra attention. They have their own language that is not based on words only. There are so many other aspects to consider: images, layout, colors… How can we “translate” book covers?
Our partners face this challenge daily, and we can be more proud of the incredible solutions they come up with. Sometimes they create different designs, and sometimes they only adapt the title to their language. Either way, it is always a pleasure to see how the books we represent travel around the world.
Today we embark on a journey to Asia. If you want to join us, please scroll through and enjoy this selection of children’s books translated into Korean and Chinese.

How to Crack Your Peanut
By National Center For Youth Issues
Diego doesn’t understand why he always seems to lose his temper and lash out at people. With the help of his counselor, Dr. B, Diego learns that the reason he acts the way he does is because of a peanut-shaped part of his brain called the amygdala. Once he discovers how his brain works, Diego understands why his body feels out of control when he is angry or overwhelmed. This gentle introduction to emotion regulation will help children realize they are not bad kids who make bad choices. They are good kids who can learn to control their emotions and make better choices, no matter the situation.
