Description

A Bigfoot who can build? You better believe it... until his builds go KA-BOOM!

Bam is a Sasquatch who loves fixing and building things. The only problem is he might be the world's clumsiest Sasquatch, so most of his projects end up going KA-BOOM before they're even finished. With each project leading to one disaster after the next, he'll have one last chance to not get kicked out of the Bigfoot village by constructing the biggest build ever...that is until a giant Ogre appears who has other plans! Will Bam be able to save the town using his construction skills (or lack thereof)? This rhyming, Seuss-ian picture book teaches wonderful lessons about patience, diligence, and taking time to do things right. Perfect for any kid who loves building, Bigfoots, and construction sites.

Review

Derek Taylor Kent’s picture book, Ka-Boom!, is a clever story full of fun, humor, and good advice. Told in rhyming verse, the simple language will help young readers follow along and easily improve their reading skills. The plot follows Bam’s various failed attempts to be a creative builder, but the key point is that he never gives up. Young readers will learn about determination, various aspects of construction, building tools, and building one’s self-confidence. Like Dr. Seuss’s great stories, this one will tickle the funny bone while teaching young people valuable life skills. I loved the illustrations by Bright Jungle Studios which are bright, bold, colorful, and full of action. Brilliant! - Reader's Favorite Book Awards
