Description

Does your child cling tightly to "NO!" when it's time to try something new — a haircut, a new routine, a new experience?

Received Readers' Favorite 5-Star Seal

I Won't Cut My Hair! is a laugh-out-loud social-emotional learning story told with kid-perfect drama that helps children build confidence and embrace change.

Sally LOVES her big, beautiful purple hair… and she's made one thing very clear: "I won't cut it. Not now. Not ever." But when her giant hair starts creating giant problems, Sally faces a challenge: Can she try something different while staying true to herself?

This book will help your child:

  • Build confidence when they face something new
  • Develop flexibility and emotional resilience to handle change
  • Trust that new experiences can be positive and fun
  • Understand the difference between self-confidence and stubbornness

This book is wonderful for:

  • Kids who often say "NO!" to first-time experiences
  • Families navigating transitions (new rules, new phases)

Perfect for ages 3–8: bedtime, read-aloud time, and classrooms (SEL - social emotional learning)

BONUS ACTIVITY: Write things you’re stubborn about vs. things you want to try.

"The story stresses on how important it is to be confident more than being pretty..."
I Won't Cut My Hair! (My Crazy Stories Series) by Daniel Georges is adorable and I love the portrayal of Sally's character. Children can be stubborn while growing up and that makes Sally a real and relatable child. The story stresses on how important it is to be confident more than being pretty and that shows clearly in how Sally's long hair ends up being a nightmare instead of making her look beautiful. The illustrations by the author are vivid and wonderful with the color purple running cohesively through the entire story. Children will enjoy reading this book and many of them will surely relate to Sally. The entire MY CRAZY STORIES series is good to have in a personal collection as well as great to be read aloud in classroom storytelling sessions.
