Representing Books That Are
Ready for the World.

Dropcap Rights Agency

Our agency represents compelling, carefully curated, and exclusive titles.
DropCap Rights Agency offers exclusive in-house representation for authors and publishers whose books have demonstrated the potential to succeed in international markets. Representation is by invitation only extended at our agents' discretion, based on their assessment of your book's potential and market fit.

How the Invitation Happens

There is no application. There is no Formula.

DropCap’s agents are always evaluating books in the marketplace. When a book generates strong buyer interest through inquiries, fair engagement, sample requests, or simply because an agent recognizes exceptional potential, they may reach out directly to discuss representation.

What Agents Look For

Representation invitations are based on our agents’ professional judgment, informed by decades of experience in international rights. Some of the signals that matter:
  • Consistent buyer interest across multiple markets or territories
  • Strong Rights Readiness Score combined with commercial traction
  • Genre and positioning that aligns with current international acquisition activity
  • An author or publisher who is actively investing in their book’s visibility and longevity
  • A book that our agents genuinely believe in which matters more than any metric

Timing

Representation can be offered at any point. Early in a membership if an agent sees immediate potential, or after sustained traction builds over time. There is no minimum listing period or performance threshold. There is judgment, applied by people who know the market.

You Receive an Invitation

The Invitation Moment

One of our team will reach out directly. There are no applications. No deadlines. Just a conversation about your book and whether full representation is the right next step. We’ll explain what representation includes for your specific title, answer your questions, and let you decide.

What It Includes

  • Exclusivity — we handle all aspects of the licensing process end-to-end on your behalf.
  • Hand-pitching of your book during face-to-face meetings with key partners
  • Inclusion in curated marketing materials designed by our in-house team
  • Priority promotion to our strategic network of global co-agents for deeper market penetration
  • Ongoing royalty management for the life of all licensing contracts

Our Agents

The agents behind every deal.

ALLISON OLSON — CSO & CO-FOUNDERWith 30+ years in the rights industry, Allison co-founded DropCap in 2018 after running her own independent agency, Letter Soup, and has a track record of building enduring client partnerships and landing international bestsellers. DropCap is one of the first agencies to represent indie authors internationally, and Allison, alongside V.P. of Business Development Monica, personally negotiates every deal for their publisher and author clients.

MONICA — VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTFollowing a 10+ year tenure as Rights Director at Hay House, Monica's 30+ year industry experience draws from having worked in Toronto, London, and New York, and brings with her unique new publisher-clients to DropCap from her wide-reaching global network. In addition to her foreign territories, Monica also focuses on primary and film agenting.

What Our Customers Are Saying

“DropCap has really taken our publishing company to the next level. Not only do they fill a gaping hole in the indie author marketplace, but they’re so friendly, organized, and perceptive.”

Considering they have no actual competition for their innovative international rights service, DropCap could opt to be over-priced divas, but just the opposite is the case. We have gotten so much bang for our book bucks!
