A Tale of Two Agents: Chapter Ten

“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.”
― Rumi

Thanksgiving in the US is a time for family gatherings (now that we can again!), Friendsgiving for those who step in when family is far away, and a time to reflect on the difficult part of its history along with the celebratory. We are reminded that gratitude is also an essential part of any grieving process as without it comes only suffering.

One of our favourite gratitude journals is Girl Friday's F*cks to Give: A Gratitude Journal When Life Gives You Lemons:

Filled with beautifully illustrated quotes (that look like luxury wallpaper we’d like to have!), and reminders of what is important, such as building community.

A few other gems on grief and gratitude for adults, children, business leaders and lovers of fiction:

The Burning Light of Two Stars (Girl Friday Books) by Laura Davis, bestselling author of The Courage to Heal, also raises issues of repairing family relationships by the power of storytelling and forgiveness as the route to reconciliation. The book is wonderfully summarized in the LA Review of Books.

We are personally grateful for Allison’s two and four legged boys.

And for Monica’s Fall in Central Park.
