A Tale of Two Agents: A Fair to Remember
“My mother always told me, 'hide your face, people are looking at you.' I would reply, 'It does not matter, I am also looking at them.'"
― Malala Yousafzai
"There must be something between us, even if it’s only an ocean."
― Nickie to Terry in An Affair to Remember (1957)
There are so many things to celebrate in the month of March: International Women’s Day, all things green with International Frog Day (who knew!) and St Patrick's Day, the Spring Equinox and the arrival of the first day of Spring ... plus here at DropCap ...
A Fair to Remember
... our March 2021 virtual book fair showcasing the inspiring new Spring lists just in from our publishers and authors, highlighting our newly acquired titles, and reconnecting with the faces we will miss in London and Bologna. Because, let’s face it, we simply feel waiting until the end of June to do so is far too long! We invite you to join us over two weeks of meetings from March 22nd - April 2nd where you can easily book appointments with either one of us for a less hectic, more thorough discussion rather than the rushed half hours of fairs past.
Welcoming Our Newest Publishers
To launch the event, we’ve been busy welcoming our new DropCap publishers and authors on board and look forward to introducing you to their outstanding work:
Whitefox Publishing A UK-based custom publisher from a team of former HarperCollins alum, with spectacular titles ranging from a bestselling novelist to notable children’s books.
Stone Bridge Press Covering such Japan-related areas as language, business, literature, manga, design, and culture, works include the fascinating memoir Tokyo Junkie and other fine quality books about Asia.
Conch Books A collection of whimsical Buddhist-themed adult spiritual fiction by David Michie, the internationally best-selling author of The Dalai Lama’s Cat series of novels, two thrillers and the forthcoming Instant Karma.
Trunk Up Books features the work of Vicky Weber, a musician and elementary educator with a love for children’s literature. Interactive books for the music classroom, made by a music teacher for music teachers!
Wheat Penny Press is spearheaded by author, book coach, and meditation guide Rebekah Borucki. These children’s books have diverse characters, by authors with diverse identities, and which support authors and artists based on their creative talent and not the size of their platforms.
Please remember to refer to your dashboard for great titles such as The Greater Good by award-winning social entrepreneur Madeleine Shaw (Wonderwell Press, Oct 2021). An invitation to women, minorities, and other marginalized individuals who may not see themselves as belonging in the business world, Shaw shows readers how to map and mine their own experience and core values, with creative exercises and prompts to formulate a vision for change. (Don't have a dashboard yet? Set yours up now to see our fabulous new titles!)
And in our children’s world, Zara’s Big Messy Day (That Turned Out Okay) is part of Wheat Penny Press’s Big Messy series featuring Zara and her friends learning to deal with big messy emotions with a mindfulness and breathing technique that's already helped thousands of little ones, offered by a bestselling author and mother-of-five, Rebekah Borucki and renowned illustrator and energy healer, Danielle Pioli.
Looking forward to Z-meeting you at the Fair!
