Description

Set in the decaying remnants of Europe’s Colonies,Statera imagines a future ruled by the Federation of Olympus, Righteousness and the Elect (FORTE), a regime that governs through ritualized violence, surveillance, and coerced belief. Citizens are branded at birth, stripped of language and history, and taught that obedience is balance.

The novel follows Aurora, a skilled worker turned reluctant insurgent haunted by a failed escape that ended in massacre; Lukas, a young hunter trying to protect his sisters as they come of age under the shadow of the Election; and the unseen machinery of FORTE itself, where religion, technology, and spectacle merge into absolute control. When the next Election targets the youth of the Colonies, the illusion of choice collapses. Survival means complicity. Resistance means annihilation.

What begins as personal trauma widens into a systemic reckoning, revealing a civilization sustained by sacrifice—and a terrifying truth: the system does not need belief to function, only participation.

Adrijus Kveda

Adrijus Kveda is a 19-year-old writer born in Alytus, Lithuania. He currently lives in the United Kingdom, studying Psychology and Language Sciences at University College London (UCL).
Passionate about creative writing, theatre, martial arts, debating, basketball, and video games, Adrijus draws inspiration from both art and human nature.
His love for storytelling stems from a deep fascination with resilience and human emotion, shaped by Lithuania’s history of exile under the Soviet Union. His key literary influences include Ruta Sepetys’ Between Shades of Gray, Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, Marie Lu’s Legend series, and Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games.
He believes stories exist to give power—and a voice—to those who don’t have one.
