Yolanda Contreras Wilhelm
Yolanda Contreras de Wilhelm is a normal school teacher with a degree in Social Work from the University of Chile, and has had her studies validated by Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She holds postgraduate degrees in both Medical Social Work and Couple Conflict, and has a master's degree in Family Therapy. She has also completed several studies in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay and other countries.
She has been a founder of the School of Social Work of the University of Sinaloa, Academic Secretary at the School of Social Work of UNAM, head of Social Work at Hospital Infantil de Mexico, as well as both a founder and head of the area of Social Work at Instituto Nacional de Pediatría. She has been a professor at Colegio Nacional de Trabajadores Sociales, a UN officer for the aid to political refugees, and a lieutenant in the Mexican Army. She has also served as director of Centro de Estudios Sociales y Económicos de México of Instituto de Ciencias para la Familia, and has hosted programmes on XEW-Radio Centro, and on television for 20 years.
Ms. Contreras is the author of five books and currently works as a family therapist in the city of Querétaro.
