Jill Wisoff, a graduate of the New School MFA program in Writing Fiction, is a resident of Greenwich Village and has performed with all sorts of bands, from country to reggae to rock. Prior to embracing long-form fiction, she toured North America and Europe as bassist for Johnny Thunders, and created songs and score for Sundance winner Welcome to the Dollhouse. Shelter Island: A January Hoolihan and Crisscross Adventure, set in the 1990s, reflects her exposure to the original punk scene and the family dynamics it impacted.
Jill Wisoff is the director/co-writer/producer of Creating Karma, a Screen Actors Guild narrative comedy feature film about a strait-laced corporate-climber who loses her job and apartment and must rely on her bohemian sister to help her out.
It won best picture awards at the Broad Humor Film Festival and Brilliant Light International Film Festival of LA.
Welcome to the Dollhouse won the grand jury prize at the Sundance film festival. Jill Wisoff composed the score and the featured and title song music and lyrics.

Jill Wisoff's 3-piece rock band produced an EP with guitar legend Chris Spedding producing. Some of the songs appear in the Welcome to the Dollhouse soundtrack album.
