Biography
Erica Collins is an author, international professional speaker, educator, media host, plus-size model, actress, and former beauty queen. She has worked for several legacy media companies including Business Week Online, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, HBO, and Time Warner/HBO Sports. Additionally, Erica worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Broadcast studio’s “It’s Your Business” and the “Quality Learning Series” shows. As a pioneer professional plus-size model and body-positive advocate, Erica became an advisor and spokesperson for Fashion to Figure stores, partnering with the great-grandsons of Lena H. Bryant (Lane Bryant). She modeled for legacy retailers such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Liz Claiborne (Elisabeth), Boscov's, Just My Size, and Fashion Bug. As a former Beauty Queen, she earned the title of Miss Plus America, among many other accolades in the plus-size modeling and fashion industry. Erica was honored to train and work at the U.S. Capitol House and Senate Radio/TV Press Galleries, serving as a press liaison between U.S. Congress and national/international media. While in Washington, D.C., she interned at WTTG Fox 5 News, WRC News 4 NBC, and NBC's syndicated "George Michael Sports Machine." Throughout her career, she has covered local, national, and international news, entertainment, business, and sports. Erica continues to use her platform to mentor future leaders and create inclusive content across media, education, and publishing. She currently serves as a University Advisor, Honorary Instructor, and small business advocate while hosting multiple podcasts. As a University Advisor, she specializes in Global Perspectives on Women in Leadership and Strategies in Artificial Intelligence.
