Finalist, 2020 Silver Falchion Award

Survivor of a deadly cartel ambush, Detective Emilia Cruz returns to Acapulco to recover from the trauma. Before she can catch her breath, her penniless stepfather is kidnapped. At the same time, a Russian guest is murdered by a cold-blooded killer in the luxury hotel managed by her boyfriend, Kurt Rucker.

The stakes couldn't be higher as Emilia finds herself thrust back into the dangerous world of drug cartel violence.

RUSSIAN MOJITO is the 7th book in the Detective Emilia Cruz series featuring the first female police detective in Acapulco as she confronts cartels, corruption and social inequality amid the hunt for Mexico's missing. The iconic and recognizable setting, relatable characters, and plots torn from today's headlines make this a highly appealing series for international readers.

Author Carmen Amato learned a few things about danger, deception and resilience during a 30-year career with the CIA focusing on counterdrug and technical collection. Now those lessons play out on the page, especially in the Detective Emilia Cruz mystery series set in Acapulco.
