We Chose Resistance
by Margie Bucheit
The spring of 1944, DDay approaches, but will the Allies be successful? To swing the odds in their favor, Renard, the recalcitrant Jesuit leader of a hardened Resistance band, is thrown into an uninvited, chaotic working relationship with one of Churchill's notorious special agents, a woman codenamed Crow. A young boyshy, courageous Martin, whose father supports the occupying Reich and not a free Francesoon becomes an unlikely ally to both agent and Resister.
We Chose Resistance takes readers into the heart of rural France during wartime, where a courageous and poorly armed volunteer "army" stubbornly defies the occupying enemy each day to win back France. But victory and betrayal go hand in hand, and a price will be paid. Friendships will realign, and longheld beliefs will be thrown aside. Vive la Rèsistance.

Margie Bucheit
Margie Bucheit is a journalist by training and an avid history enthusiast who splits her time between New England and a central region of France known as La Sologne, once a vibrant hub of Resistance activity in World War Two. The author spent five years digging into historical commentary and anecdotal stories about French citizens who voluntarily joined these notorious World War Two Resistance bands. Her efforts brought to light many unrecognized actions that proved key to Allied success on DDay. The author has written for local New England newspapers and magazines, educational institutions, business organizations, and nonprofits. Her past articles have won awards with the New England Newspaper and Press Association. We Chose Resistance is her first work of fiction.
