Bullying is an ever-present problem in young people’s lives today – a fifth-grade girl is shunned by other girls during lunch, a seventh-grade boy fakes being sick so he doesn’t have to deal with a bully at school, or an eighth-grade girl endures ridicule over a vicious rumor posted online. Whether bullying happens face-to-face in a school hallway or in the digital world via text message or on a Facebook page, its effects are felt in schools every day and are serious, harmful, and in many cases devastating to the victims.
