Ruby the Rhinoceros
Ruby the Rhinoceros is ready for something new: a tea party with her jungle friends. But choosing the guest list proves harder than she expected. Georgia the Giraffe is too tall. Alice the Alligator has too many teeth. Harriet the Hippopotamus is too bossy. Murphy the Monkey is too jolly. One by one, Ruby finds a reason each friend simply will not do.
Then Krystal the Kangaroo helps Ruby discover something she doesn't expect: perhaps her friends aren't the problem. The friends don't change. Ruby changes the way she sees them.
Warm, playful, and richly illustrated, Ruby the Rhinoceros invites children and the adults reading alongside them to explore perspective, friendship, inclusion, self-awareness, and the joy that becomes possible when we look for the best in others.
Ruby the Rhinoceros is the first title in Victoria Célestin's planned five-book Inner Voice Series, built around a simple idea: the one person every child will spend every moment of life with is themselves—and that lifelong relationship deserves to be nurtured.
