Economic Governance Technology
A New Approach to Creating a Just Society for All That All can Understand Includes An Action Plan for Economic Fairness in the USA
What if economies were governed not by rigid theories, political slogans, or short-term interests, but by practical observation, modern technology, and basic human values?
In Economic Governance Technology, mechanical engineer Peter G. Hammerschlag challenges traditional economics and proposes a new, accessible framework for building productive, adaptable, and fair societies. Drawing on decades of experience in engineering, manufacturing, business, and real-world problem-solving, he treats economic governance as a technology: a system that can be monitored, tested, improved, and repaired.
Written in everyday language, the book examines inequality, markets, money, banking, taxation, regulation, public services, infrastructure, automation, and the failures that lead to recessions and instability. Hammerschlag introduces “Strict Economic Pragmatism,” advocates an independent agency to monitor and guide the economy, and presents paradigms designed to balance free enterprise with the public good.
The book concludes with a detailed action plan for economic fairness in the United States, addressing elections, lobbying, healthcare, housing, finance, wealth concentration, and long-term investment.
For citizens, students, educators, policymakers, and leaders, this is a provocative blueprint for rethinking how economies can serve everyone.
