About the Book
"You will not be disappointed by this gal's story!" -Wes Clark, coauthor of Lost Burbank
Imagine life is like a sitcom starring your eccentric, single father who can never get enough attention. His physical appearance turns people's heads. He wears an obvious toupee and walks around the house naked. He has a handlebar mustache and sideburns dyed jet black, and he shows off his tanned, muscular physique by leaving his shirt unbuttoned down to his navel wherever he goes. His appearance and his off-colored jokes draw attention, but his van is the real embarrassment.
This van is unlike anything you've ever seen. It's covered in brass ornaments and silver dollars, and it shines like gold, attracting stares and even media coverage. Even Vegas casinos covet having it parked at their entrances for patrons to ogle.
Tracy shares what it was like being raised by her ostentatious but loving father. Left unsupervised to fend for herself in a series of life-threatening situations, Tracy finds herself on a wild ride down a road you would never expect.

About the Author
Tracy Bouvier
Tracy Bouvier grew up in Burbank, California, where she was raised by her single dad, a local eccentric. She spent her teenage years riding in his crazy van, which was covered with brass ornaments, silver dollars, and stares from gawkers. As a teen, Tracy cringed from embarrassment when riding in her dad's grandiose creation, but she eventually came to appreciate the van and the notoriety it brought her father. Tracy has been a record-setting college shot-putter, a motorcycle rider (and crasher), and a daffodil picker and once lived on a commune. She's an operating room nurse of thirty-five years, and has been married to her husband for about the same length of time. They have two daughters.

Review
"After devouring the first chapter of Tracy Bouvier's Drop Me Around the Corner, I was hooked. I felt like I was right there. I couldn't wait to enjoy the rest of the book. Very engaging." -Roger Fisher, lead guitarist for the rock and roll band Heart
"Tracy Bouvier has mined not gold but brass in this volume about growing up with her father, a man who became a legend by driving a van completely covered in brass items around the streets of Burbank, CA. (People still talk about him today!) You can almost feel her teenage embarrassment as he drove her to school, but love conquers all, and this book works as a fond reminiscence of an innocent time and a definitely unique father. A memoir you will ponder once you finish it-can somebody please option this out for a teleplay? You will not be disappointed by this gal's story!" -Wes Clark, coauthor of Lost Burbank, Growing Up in Burbank and True Tales from Burbank
"Tracy's prose moves at the pace of memory, making her unique coming-of-age into a satisfying story of off-beat love and lives well lived that you won't soon forget." -David Farris, award-winning author of Lie Still
"Tracy Bouvier's memorable coming-of-age story candidly reveals what it's like to grow up the child of a very charismatic and eccentric father-Ernie Steingold. I found it especially fascinating to read about Tracy's reaction to such a paradoxical single parent. A simple vacuum repairman by trade, Ernie was a man who, outside of work, derived such pleasure and vanity from his muscular body and his outlandish California fantasy van. I found myself smiling a lot as I turned the pages of this unusual and honest memoir." -Harrod Blank, independent filmmaker, author of Art Cars, the Artists, the Obsession, the Craft
"Raising a father is hard work, and in Drop Me Around the Corner, Tracy Steingold Bouvier celebrates the child inside the man in this endearing memoir about two generations growing up together." -Erin Hosier, Tell Me About Your Father podcast...
