Lya Badgley

Biography

As a writer of women’s historical fiction, author Lya Badgley uses her experience with Southeast Asian culture and customs as an inspiration for her stories. She spent many years in the region, opening a restaurant, interviewing insurgents for Human Rights Watch, and spending time microfilming documents for the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide in Cambodia.

After spending years in Southeast Asia, Badgley relocated to the Pacific Northwest, where she became part of the eighties Seattle arts and music scene and even recorded an album and a video.
