John Englander

Biography

John Englander is an oceanographer, multi-book author, and expert speaker on climate change and Sea Level Rise (SLR). He is also a global ocean explorer with expeditions under the polar ice cap, deep dives in research submersibles, 5,000+ SCUBA dives, and visits to Greenland and Antarctica. His mission is to be a clear, apolitical voice on our changing climate and oceans. His best-selling first book, High Tide on Main Street (2012), established John as a leading authority on rising sea level. He translated the latest science from Greenland and Antarctica into practical information for strategic coastal planning and adaptation. His second book, Moving to Higher Ground: Rising Sea Level and the Path Forward (2021), updates the science (SLR is increasing at an increasing rate), and again concludes that excess heat already stored in our oceans guarantees SLR will continue for centuries to come. www.johnenglander.net
