Biography
Andrew Houlston grew up in a small village in Devon, England. At nineteen, he joined the Royal Air Force as an airfield technician, beginning a career that allowed him to travel widely while working on defence and commercial technology projects around the world. After leaving the RAF, he continued working in the technology sector before eventually retiring and turning his attention to storytelling.
Inspired by a lifelong love of science fiction and epic fantasy, Houlston began creating richly detailed worlds shaped by adventure, history, and human resilience. His writing blends sweeping conflicts with personal journeys, drawing influence from classic fantasy and seafaring adventure tales.
His debut novel, The Pagalan Chronicles: Book 1 – Search for Morganuke’s Roots, introduces readers to the archipelago world of Pagalan—an interconnected realm shaped by trade, war, and ancient secrets. The story follows a young sailor whose search for identity becomes entwined with a growing continental conflict and mysterious forces linked to his past.
Through themes of friendship, courage, and destiny, Houlston explores how ordinary people rise to meet extraordinary challenges. The Pagalan Chronicles marks the beginning of an epic series spanning continents, cultures, and hidden histories.
